This page is for news, updates and articles specifically written for the benefit and enjoyment of the players in the $1250 FFPC Dynasty League. It will remain open to the public as well for those interested in checking out the happenings in this league. All of the information here can also be found at our league web page at http://leagues.myffpc.com/fantasy-football-league/74826 so coming to this page is by no means a necessity for the players. I wanted to be able to better organize the articles here (as opposed to being scattered on the message board), and I am also able to drop in some cool pictures to spice things up a bit.

FFPC $1250 Dynasty Week 6 Recap

We're just about at the halfway point in the season and we're starting to get some clarity as to which teams are the Haves and which are the Have Nots.

CKC and Murphy's Law are clearly among the Haves and in the top 2 in both total points and VPs. They currently occupy the all important bye positions at this stage. These two teams were also involved in a blockbuster trade (with each other) in each of the last two weeks, both seemingly designed to make Murphy stronger (Fred Jackson and Dwayne Bowe) and CKC younger (Rashard Mendenhall and Jermichael Finley). It will be interesting to monitor how these trades affect the two teams going forward.

Following very closely behind are Team Calvin and Invictus, also among the Haves. Team Calvin is the third highest scoring team thus far and Invictus the 5th, so no signs of a fluke here.  A good Week 7 for these two could easily put one or both in the bye slots ahead of CKC and Murphy.

Hanging on for dear life in the early playoff race and still among the Haves are Galaxy Aces and Cornfins. After a hot start, Galaxy has had a string of three consecutive low scoring weeks (each under 120 pts), dropping from 1st in total points to 7th. Can Galaxy right the ship and hang on for a wildcard birth? Cornfins has been looking VERY strong as of late behind league MVP candidate Jimmy Graham and could very well ascend into the race for the top 2 before long.

Neither a Have nor a Have Not and in its own tier is Show Me Your TDs. Although only 1 VP out of the playoff group, Show Me has made a clear effort to get younger by trading for Torrey Smith a few weeks ago and this week acquiring Damian Williams and a 2012 2nd rounder for Antonio Gates (on the week Gates makes it back onto the field). Then again, these particular players appear to be primed to make a contribution in 2011, so this could be a sneaky play to win now as well.

Finally, we have the Have Nots - Mount Vernon, Qwik-6, Desert Wind, For Taylar and Three Arch. Interestingly, Qwik-6, Three Arch and Desert Wind were the top 3 teams during the regular season in 2010 (in both VPs and total points). This year is a whole different story. We're only in Week 7, so one or more of these five teams may sneak into the playoffs when its all said and done.

There could be big shift in all of this in Week 7. Most teams are short handed this week, so scoring is likely to be low, and anything can happen. Good luck everyone!
