Week 1 Recap

WEEK 1 RECAP:

VFL vs Beastmode:

Prediction: Beastmode wins in a defensive battle.

Actual: VFL shows up in a big way in week 1 with a 4pt victory and a new name. Led by Drew Brees and the Baltimore Ravens defense, the team had good scoring all around except for the bagel put up by Austin Collie. The impressive performances by Vick and Calvin of Beastmode (now CAM Express) weren't enough to offset the lack of scoring from Cook, Lynch and Maclin.

Invictus vs Money:

Prediction: Invictus in a close one with Foster riding the pine.

Actual: This was a close one all the way to the end with Invictus leading most of Monday night with a slight lead (Gronkowski vs Welker) until...

Cornfins vs Desert Wind:

Prediction: Cornfins in a high scoring affair (high score of the week).

Actual: Anything but a high scoring affair, and no where near high score of the week. It was a close one though with Kenny Britt winning the day for Desert Wind. So far, I'm 0 for 3.

Murphy vs Qwik:

Prediction: Qwik wins.
Actual: Murphy guaranteed a win, and it looked like a pretty safe bet after Aaron Rodgers' opening salvo. Aaron Hernandez looked to be the deciding factor for Murphy, but Reggie Bush pulled Qwik through with a nice 4 pt victory.

Taylar and 3Arch:

Prediction: 3Arch wins

Actual: Another miss. For Taylar in a rout despite a ZERO from Lee Evans. Who knew Steve Smith would turn back the clock and be his old self again? Apparently For Taylar as he traded Frank Gore for Smith and a couple of 1sts (looking like a really good trade right about now).

Galaxy vs CKC:

Prediction: Galaxy in a close low-scoring affair.

Actual: This was more like a clash with a titan as Galaxy delivered again (taking high score honors). CKC's bunch looked pretty ordinary and overrated with poor performances out of Chris Johnson, Vincent Jackson and Dwayne Bowe. Only one "player" in single digits for Galaxy (New England Defense). Galaxy looks scary good again.
